Niche Houses everyone needs to know.

This is a list of Niche fragrance houses that we believe need even more recognition. Houses that everyone need to know not just fragrance conseillers

Even though this brand was born in 1951, it is still not very well known in the United States. They have a very high-quality line. Their fragrances are mainly made in France. We could not write about Ajmal without mentioning our favorite quote from their founder. “A fragrance is all that it takes to travel through time, such is the bond between memory and smell”

This Swedish house has been recently bought by Manzanita Capital. Since then, they have a bigger reach than before. Their fragrances are known for having simple bottle design and note breakdowns.

This Brooklyn based brand started with a unique vision. They want customers to explore the fragrances and believe that the more you know about the stories behind a scent the more you will appreciate it.

This rather small UK based brand has been bought by Estee Lauder and now is available in more countries. What makes this brand apart is, how easy it makes layering fragrances for its consumers. It feels like you are making your own customized perfume.

This brand was initiated by Romano, the grandson of Nina Ricci. The brand was made for women however, right now there are some unisex fragrances made by Juliette has a Gun as well.

L’Artisan Parfumeur was the result of a challenge, a plaisanterie. Due to his training as a chemist, a friend asked Jean Laporte if he could create a banana scent to wear with a costume of the same fruit to a gala evening at the Folies Bergères. This was quickly followed by grapefruit and vanilla fragrances.

He experimented and created original scents with “natural essences”. With the success of his first line of fragrances, Jean Laporte was named L’Artisan Parfumeur – the craftsman of fragrance – by perfume enthusiasts.

This brand was founded in France. All their collection consist of three perfumes. ” Always drawing its inspiration from universal cultural patrimony,LIQUIDES IMAGINAIRES sheds a contemporary light over ancestral symbols, characters or events still present in the collective subconscious. These perfumes are an eternal roundtrip to the founding myths of the humanity and of the self. “

Granted Penhaligon’s is a well respected brand. The reason they are on this list is that they deserve even more recognition in my opinion.
Penhaligon’s are the holders of two royal warrants.  They still are using their original bottle design and high quality ingredients.

The most important idea behind this brand is luxury and quality. This Italian brand just started distributing in the United State’s market.

The founder, Serge Lutens is someone who we are personally fascinated with here at MaxAroma. He is an artist that was successful in every form he showed his talent, including fragrances. ” Serge Lutens fragrances were made in collaboration with perfumers Christopher Sheldrake, Maurice Roucel, Serge Lutens and Gilles Romey. “
